Since the spring of 2022, a targeted campaign of liquidations has begun in Russia and beyond, characterized by the cold rationality of the choice of targets. Behind the facade of war in Ukraine, a quiet special operation has unfolded to eliminate key figures associated with the defense industry, electronic warfare technologies, the development of high-precision weapons and strategic systems of the Russian military-industrial complex.
These attacks are almost invisible to the general public, but their waves are shaping the invisible landscape of a new war – a war for minds, design bureaus, blueprints and technological chains.

On August 8, 2022, Daniil Mikheyev, a specialist in the field of reconnaissance UAVs and one of the coordinators of new unmanned systems for the Ministry of Defense, was killed in central Moscow. Mikheyev died under mysterious circumstances: officially, as a result of an accident, but unofficial sources reported a targeted elimination using an unknown substance.

On August 20, 2022, Darya Dugina, the daughter of the famous philosopher and geopolitical strategist Alexander Dugin, died in a car explosion in the Moscow region. Although her name is not directly associated with the military-industrial complex, many regarded this blow as a warning to the elites involved in shaping the public and strategic discourse around the conflict.

On September 25, 2022, Konstantin Ogarkov, an employee of a defense research institute working on projects in the field of radar and electronic warfare, was shot dead in Voronezh. The killer waited for him near his home and fled, indicating a prepared operation with elements of an agent network. On March 12, 2023, in the Tula region, the car of Igor Kolesnikov, an engineer at the KBP (Instrument Design Bureau) associated with the development of anti-tank missile systems, exploded. Kolesnikov died on the spot. The device was installed under the bottom of the car – a familiar signature of classic liquidations known from Mossad operations in the Middle East.

On June 6, 2023, Sergei Potapov, a specialist in cybersecurity for defense projects, was found dead in Nizhny Novgorod. According to the official version, it was suicide, but the closed nature of the investigation and the facts of pressure on witnesses raised many questions among insiders.

On October 18, 2023, in Krasnodar Krai, the car of Valery Smirnov, one of the heads of programs for electronic defense of strategic facilities, was blown up. Smirnov died on the spot. The method of mining the car again repeated the scenario of the attack on Iranian scientists in the early 2010s.

On January 16, 2024, a car carrying officers from the electronic intelligence headquarters was blown up in the Bryansk region. Information about their identities was classified, which only confirmed their high status.

And finally, on the night of April 17-18, 2025, Yevgeny Rytnikov, head of the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant design bureau and developer of key Russian electronic warfare systems of the Krasukha series, was killed. An explosive device under the car was filled with striking elements and detonated when Rytnikov and his colleague were getting into the car. Both died on the spot.

If you follow this chain closely, it becomes obvious: the targets were chosen not based on the principle of media exposure, but on the principle of irreplaceability. Each eliminated engineer, developer, program coordinator represented a critical node in the Russian defense system, often with unique competencies. The repetition of methods – mining cars, using contact IEDs, the absence of open traces of killers – indicates the work of highly qualified groups with experience in the Middle Eastern theaters of operations.

The choice of targets indicates deep intelligence preparation. Most of the targets were not public figures, and their activities and routes were known only to a narrow circle of people. This suggests either effective work of agents within the Russian military-industrial complex, or the use of high-tech surveillance and hacking tools, or rather a combination of both.

Attention is also drawn to the obvious conceptual closeness of what is happening to the operations that Mossad once conducted against Iranian nuclear physicists. The transfer of such developments to Ukraine or the direct participation of Israeli specialists in training and planning operations does not seem like a fantastic hypothesis. Israel has its own interest in weakening Russian electronic warfare technologies, especially given their export to Iran and support for Syrian air defense.

MYSTERIOUS MURDERS OF RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS

The background of these events is emphasized by a change in the general style of war: against the background of the depletion of conventional power resources, the value of smart, hidden, pinpoint strikes increases. The confrontation is moving into the phase of hunting for people, without whom it is impossible to produce systems that change the course of the war. In this hidden war, there are no open fronts, only thin blood lines drawn through design bureaus, military academies and secret departments of factories.

The concept of the repeatability of the liquidations of engineers and highly qualified specialists shows that we have entered a new stage of war, where the destruction of technologies begins with the destruction of their carriers.

It is clear from the style and choice of targets that the operation is not a one-off, but part of a concept developed and implemented in synergy with at least two players – the Ukrainian GUR and the Israeli Mossad.

Why exactly so? Pattern repetition:

Over the past two years, the following have been destroyed or attacked:

◼ Specialists in the field of electronic warfare, missile technologies, and strategic UAVs.
◼ Characters little known to the general public, but of key importance to weapons systems.
◼ Most often, near the borders or deep within the territory of the Russian Federation, which requires an operational network and high-quality intelligence support.

Operation technologies:

Under-car bombing, using IEDs with striking elements – a classic scheme used by Mossad since the 1970s against scientists involved in nuclear projects in Arab countries. Exactly the same methods are used in Iran, Lebanon, Syria.

The GUR of Ukraine, starting in 2022, began to quickly adopt these practices: liquidations by car, motorcycle, mining the object before boarding the car.

Strategic goal:

◼ Not just intimidation or revenge. The goal is to bleed dry the Russian defense industry by knocking out links in complex technological chains with pinpoint strikes.
◼ Electronic warfare systems like Krasukha are critical to counter Western missiles and drones. Killing the developers creates technological gaps that are very difficult and time-consuming to close under sanctions and isolation.

Mossad involvement:

Israel officially distances itself from the war in Ukraine, but unofficial channels report:

● participation of specialists in training of GUR personnel;
● transfer of technologies for liquidation operations;
● Providing communication and coordination channels for “particularly difficult targets”.

Israel has its own reasons:

◼ the destruction of electronic warfare specialists, weakening Russian technology exports to Iran and the Arab world;
◼ undermining the potential of Iran’s ally in future conflict scenarios.

Network architecture of the operation:

Obviously, such actions require:

◼ agent network within the Russian Federation;
◼ working with databases;
◼ monitoring the target’s movements in real time (possibly through GPS tags, visual observation or bookmarks on transport).

The GUR does not have such capabilities on its own yet. This indirectly points to joint projects with Western or Israeli structures.

The regularity of the moment:

The time of Rybnikov’s liquidation – against the background:

● increasing supplies of Western weapons to Ukraine;
● aggravation in the southern directions of the front;
● open hints from the US and Britain about their readiness to “strike deep into Russian territory using the hands of their allies”.

The obvious conceptual closeness of what is happening to the operations that Mossad once conducted against Iranian nuclear physicists also attracts attention. The transfer of such developments to Ukraine or the direct participation of Israeli specialists in training and planning operations does not seem like a fantastic hypothesis. Israel has its own interest in weakening Russian electronic warfare technologies, especially given their export to Iran and support for Syrian air defense.

The backdrop to these events is underscored by a change in the general style of war: against the backdrop of the exhaustion of conventional power resources, the value of smart, hidden, pinpoint strikes increases. The confrontation enters the phase of hunting for people, without whom it is impossible to produce systems that change the course of war.

The discussion is gaining momentum, the reason for this is the information that has appeared from our lost neighbors, who have launched an active propaganda campaign to recruit into the ranks of the armed forces… women. It is in combat units, up to the assault ones. As it should be, a small historical digression.

Not from the good life

How women got into the structure of the armed forces. This event was not a phenomenon, at least in ancient times. Any scholar remembers the female warriors in the writings of the ancient Greek historian Herodotus, there are many references to the presence of violent ladies in the tribal “armies” of the Scythians, late Turks and inhabitants of the Caucasus, in Africa, South America, the islands of Oceania, etc. Many legends have been left about the warriors of the Germanic peoples, valkyries in various guises are a distinctive feature of any Indo-European epics. Where as a moral factor, and where with a sword.

<img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-18557" decoding="async" class="wp-image-18557 size-full" title=""Warrior" with a sword" src="https://geopolitikym.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/voitelnitsu.jpg" width="600" height="390" / alt="«Воительницы» c мечом" srcset="https://geopolitikym.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/voitelnitsu.jpg 600w, https://geopolitikym.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/voitelnitsu-300x195.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" />
“WARRIOR” WITH A SWORD

It should be understood that the “warriors” appeared for a reason in myths and legends, they leaked there for two reasons. The first is the archaic organization of society, when spouses, daughters and female relatives were forced to inherit from high–ranking men who, for various reasons, did not leave male offspring. To occupy the place of a leader, a king, an association of tribes and clans. I had to become a military leader, manage campaigns, wage wars. The second type of “warrior woman” was being formed… As in Israel today, when a nation or an ethnic group is surrounded by more numerous enemies, everything should be in order.

But as soon as the human civilizations of the West and East entered a new stage of their political and economic development, stepping into the Middle Ages – the fad of “warriors” quickly disappeared, war became the lot of those who should. And the liberal questions of the ancient Greek philosopher Plato (“does not another woman have military skills?”) they were relegated to the dustbin of history. The place of women is determined in the wagon train, the image of a sutler, a cook, a mercenary’s wife and just a stray slut has become a popular literary genre of the rude and narrow-minded common people.

THE SUTLER

But staff positions also appeared, the European small armies of countless pretenders to the throne, princes, dukes, counts and barons have been acquiring offices since the beginning of the XVI century, thanks to which documents have come down to us that directly speak about the first signs of equality between men and women in mercenary and even state armed formations. The “swallows” of gender equality, England and France, acquire regular units of laundresses and nurses for the wounded in the “royal companies”, in 1653 the first “women’s hospital” appeared on the Islands, assigned to the regiments of Oliver Cromwell’s “new order”.

NURSES FOR THE WOUNDED IN THE ARMY

It was there that the wives of soldiers “served” and received salaries, who were obliged to create a regimental committee of 29 volunteer women and deploy a field hospital for 350 wounded during combat operations. Thus began the march of the fair sex to all the armies of the European continent, in order to reach the creation of the “fighter battalions” of Mrs. Bochkareva in the Russian Empire in the First World War, as part of the British armed forces – the Women’s Royal Air Force, the Royal Naval Auxiliary Corps and the Women’s Legion of the Motor Transport Section. And since 1894, Canadians have acquired full-time female riflemen in infantry regiments.

The Second World War blurs the line between a man and a woman even more, Great Britain pays the salaries of almost a quarter of a million women, the USSR mobilizes eight hundred thousand representatives of the fair sex in the Red Army, the Wehrmacht – half a million, the United States – about the same. Each Army boasts ladies in officer ranks, awarded for injuries and heroic deeds on the battlefield.

And after the war, the number of exclusively “military male specialties” began to decline rapidly, in order to fix one hundred percent gender equality in the armies of Denmark, Canada, the Netherlands and Norway in 1988. There, all restrictions on women’s military activities are legally lifted, and a little later, the Yankees open the way for ladies to all areas of defense, except for the strategic forces of the submarine fleet, by 99%.

Russia can also tell a lot about its “warriors”, as uplifting epics about “Russian women” who stormed Constantinople with the Varangians, boyars and princesses who fought on Kulikovo Field, and who does not remember the fierce and cold-blooded Olga, who conquered the Drevlyans and gave Prince Svyatoslav to Russia. Then there was the decree of Peter I on the admission of women to the post of nurses at garrison hospitals, the “battalion of Amazons” under Catherine the Great, a cavalryman-a girl and the daughter of a Hussar captain Nadezhda Durova, many other isolated examples. They were an exception to the rule, but still. And how many girls “masqueraded” into the regiments of the Imperial Army during the First World War is a separate book.

MARIA BOCHKAREVA’S DEATH BATTALION

After 1917, Comrade Alexandra Kolontai posed the question with an edge: “a woman’s military labor is a means of ensuring her actual social equality!” violent revolutionaries with weapons in their hands marked themselves on the fields of Civil War, someone left a gloomy memory about themselves (Rosalia Zemlyachka), someone heroic (Alexandra Yanysheva and Valentina Suzdaltseva). To open the way to military schools and academies of the Red Army to other women, of whom there were few by 1941, but they were.

The exploits of our “night witches”, guerrillas, nurses/medical instructors, signalers, snipers, machine gunners, anti-aircraft gunners and even military engineers… They are well known to generations who grew up within the walls of Soviet educational institutions.

SOVIET WOMEN IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945

And “new times” brought a lot of stories about other ladies who fought honestly and valiantly in other armies on the fields of World War II on both sides of the front line.

HANNAH REICH, LUFTWAFFE COMBAT PILOT

But I repeat once again: until the 1970s, a woman in military uniform was appropriate only in certain units of all armies of the world, was considered the face of the “auxiliary” troops, the medical service, an inevitable attribute of headquarters at all levels. Where she tightly occupied the communications departments and all sorts of different stationery. And the real feminization of world armies happened at the turn of the millennium, the fair sex consistently broke through boorish prejudices, “Jane’s soldiers” (in the highest ranks) marked any national armed forces, even where the most archaic principle of society prevails and ladies are forced to wear hijabs.

Pros and cons

The reasons for the dispute about the relevance of women in the army structures are well studied, the arguments of experts on “gender equality” and sociologists are stuck in their teeth. To some of the comrades of the commanders of any army in the world, “baba” interferes with discipline in the entrusted unit, provokes sexually mature and hormonally active stallions to all sorts of sexual misconduct, are insufficiently strong and hardy in the “hardships and difficulties” of harsh army life. Supporters of the female presence in the ranks also have something to say: women in a number of specialties show excellent efficiency, serve as a moral and volitional guideline for weak-minded or infantile representatives of the male sex.

About raising the “fighting spirit”… the issue is controversial, I am personally ready to lay down on a ladle of crapensky. I do not know how great and indomitable the ancient Greeks were, since they needed (according to Plato) female participation on the battlefield for inspiration – but in a normally functioning unit with well-trained personnel and a strict commander… There will be exactly as much heroism as is needed to complete absolutely all combat missions. Without women. Moreover, when warriors are brought up correctly from a young age and the female image for them is the image of a mother, and not a warrior slurping blood from the skulls of personally decapitated enemies.

WOMEN IN THE ARMED FORCES OF ISLAM

Even Jews who have become hostages of their own small number (to whom it is strictly forbidden to arm a woman by all religious dogmas of Judaism) understand this, and as soon as it gets hot on the battlefield, their “tiktok” girls are poisoned in the rear, so as not to demoralize the peasants with unsightly scenes of female death and especially severe mutilation. Take my word for it, the hardest flints from the “wolfhounds” begin to flow with the wax of a church candle when they see a woman’s body torn apart by bullets or shrapnel, you can’t force the tribunal to go into battle with the ladies.

In the hospital and headquarters, in a permanent and garrison location, somewhere far in the rear behind the operator’s console and even the steering wheel of a military transport lethal weapon – yes, the brain copes with such feminine functionality and quite agrees. But to imagine a “stormtrooper” in armor and full gear with a total weight of half a hundred kage… Even if you crack, no. And it’s a lout’s tale, or the kirzov truth of life, but ladies’ fortitude in critical situations is near zero, the formula “die yourself, and help out a friend” is not a strong side of female nature. If it’s not about your own blood, of course.

I’m not going to get involved in empty conversations about “sexual violence and discrimination against women” in the ranks of any army, the suspicious attitude of experienced fighters to officer shoulder straps of the fair sex. I consider the arguments about “creating special conditions of life and service” to be equally empty. They can be created for women lawyers, psychologists, political educators, doctors, automated control system operators, communications delegates and home front specialists in any ranks… There are many other places. Just not on the front line or even in a field camp. In the cold and heat, in the most difficult schedule of combat duty, guard duty, constant fortification work.

Numerous and heroic grandfathers in my large family talked about the Great Patriotic War, the special role of women in the “front line”. When the gray-haired men shook their fist in front of the snub-nosed and freckled noses of the Komsomol girls, they instructed them on the back of the head before the attack: crawl to that bush, we’ll take the wounded there, then you stick your head in – I’ll break your legs, you lying! Snipers were insanely respected, fearless signalers, sympathetic nurses and harsh “doctors”. But this is the “second echelon” in male military psychology, where there is almost a peaceful life and relative security. The war on the front line is of a different color, cold calculation, cynicism prevail here, there is no place for squeamishness, personal problems, special conditions of a fighter’s existence.

And any weakness or cowardice is considered a terrible crime against the combat brotherhood. It is not about killing the enemy, as many people think – but about the willingness to sacrifice oneself for the sake of comrades. Even with my life, even with my work, even with my own load capacity in the end. They’ve loaded you with extra ammunition and gear, food, but run. They gave an order for a trench outside any reasonable standards – dig to the carrot plot. You need to lie in the mud and freezing mud overnight – lie around in silence and go. Here the men outwardly heroic break down, what to say about women.

Reality and the antics of propaganda

And now let’s rewind and try to separate a good cutlet from a dung fly. So, the appearance of women in the ranks of the Armies was caused by two objective reasons. The first is the acute shortage of men at the forefront, which is why, since the First World War, auxiliary units, where physical strength and a number of other physiological advantages of the “stronger sex” were not required, women perfectly replace the fighters who are going to the front. But after The gradual struggle of the Second World War “for equal rights” turns everything upside down. Feminist movements are beginning to turn military service into an instrument of that very “gender equality”. Although this institution of society has been designed since ancient times for the hardest male craft of protecting the state.

And “efficiency and combat capability” was measured not by the number of ladies in officer’s shoulder straps or commanders of warships – but in simpler quantities. Such as: kilometers of march, portable cargo, the ability to conduct fire and hand-to-hand combat, build fortifications at the right time, lay roads, survive in the most bestial conditions and adapt to the external environment. With a full set of skills and abilities of primitive man. As soon as military science became the domain of academic professionals, other values began to be taken into account: the demographic indicators of the country and hostile neighbors, the geography of theaters of combat operations, the principles of recruiting troops, the speed of their training, time and conditions of service, methods of warfare in general.

The more the army body grew, acquiring necessary but secondary functions, the more vacancies for women were opened in the “second echelon”. Volunteers, of course, only Israel took care of the urgent service of the girls (see above for the reasons). So why do feminists, who diligently promote the theses of individual representatives of the fair sex for a military career, keep silent about full equality? Compulsory military service? Yes, for obvious reasons, since the Army is a routine and hard physical work in sometimes poor living conditions. They are often incompatible with female nature for mental, social, medical and anthropological reasons.

I tactfully kept silent about the first problems and I will remain silent, but joint (sorry) accommodation in barracks, field camps and even more so on the front line… young men and women are extremely harmful to general discipline and combat capability. Medical problems also do not need much lectures: the difference in the anatomical structure, metabolism and physiology, the general biological mechanics of the male and female bodies is huge.

Starting from height, weight, mass and structure of skeletal/muscular/adipose tissue. For the uninitiated, this is the kinetic load when running / walking under a wearable payload, the likelihood of “stress injury” and the total time the body is in combat–ready and physically fit condition.

ISRAEL: THE ESCHATOLOGICAL WAR SCENARIO HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN

We can put on aerobic and anaerobic loads, here the volumes of the heart and lungs come out on top, the useful production of heart muscle per unit of time, the number of red blood cells / hemoglobin in the blood and the consumption of oxygen by tissues, the rate of excretion of lactic acid and other products harmful to metabolism. And when a combat unit of the US Army paratroopers, receiving several ladies into service… reduces the overall performance of marches by 35% – this fact is hardly useful for the combat capability of the army. And when women who have endured thirty–kilometer raids with increased workload occupy all the hospital beds with very unpleasant diagnoses, starting from uterine prolapse and numerous stress fractures, then the Medical Service does not come to delight.

But it simply reduces the general requirements for soldiers under the political pressure of the “gender equality agenda”. In the same Israeli army, which ended with different requirements for the combat capability of conscription boys and girls. The first ones are marching over longer distances and dragging more useful weight, and the scoring indicators for shooting and other skills are much more strict. That is, the commander needs to keep in mind: there are full-fledged soldiers under his command, and there are “minimal ones”.

Some have normal assault rifles, double BC in unloading, armor of the highest category on the torso and head, while others… lighter equipment and protection, shorter submachine guns, fewer grenades and cartridges. And different requirements for combat training. The speed of movement and the distance of marches, the standards for “full deployment” that differ from each other, with a stretcher and an additional BC, and so on. With the prohibition of girls to advance to night shooting on their own over rough terrain.

Conclusions

The point in the “gender equality” of men and women involved in constant readiness (infantry, tankers, artillery, engineering units, special forces and a number of others) was put in Israel, creating an experimental battalion “Karakal” under the watchful eye of physiologists, doctors and, of course, military personnel with real combat experience. As soon as they didn ‘t try … “equality” did not work. Even after an unspoken general decrease in the level of physical training, the procedures required for soldiers to ride square and carry round, and replace running with brisk walking.

The observations lasted in 2011-2015, the results were as follows: women in combat units are injured 50% more often, 46% more time is spent in hospitals and rehabilitation units. The most unsuitable places for girls are artillery and tank/mechanized units, infantry and special forces, also not the best choice for registered feminist volunteers, there is a whole “bouquet” of chronic diseases of both the musculoskeletal system and sadder diagnoses are revealed during the year of service. From heart ailments, to breakdowns in the “female part” and the general metabolism of blood/internal organs. Three times higher than the total figures of the girls on the “citizen”.

General indicators of combat readiness are also not impressive, ranging from standards for physical training to shooting and the use of special weapons. Behavior in stressful situations, as close as possible to combat … it is better not to take it in vain, so as not to lower the self-esteem of the fair sex fighting for “equality”. 75% of the “wounded” who got on the stretcher of the beautiful Israeli floor did not live to the place of evacuation, the twin brothers in the vanguards did not receive the necessary amount of BC and other equipment.

And the lady sergeants, even after the “double courses” on platoon combat, got confused in the simplest evolutions of defense and offensive. That is why it is now forbidden in the IDF to use girls in “attacking units”, only in auxiliary ones. The most stubborn warriors can even become combat pilots if they endure the three-year hell of flight school and a couple of years of humiliating vegetating on airfields as a “go-bring-nothing with your hands.” But many survive. Piece goods.

What is the scientifically justified place of women in combat units?

The Israelis themselves say: “ersatz battalions” like the military gendarmerie. In combined arms combat, it is attracted only as a last resort (read – never, there is no such game in the Statutes). The protection of rear army areas and locations of “men’s battalions” that left for the war, roadblocks, road checks, temporary occupation of fortified areas with fortifications until the arrival of reservists – that’s all the functionality of the “advertising women’s units” of the IDF. Equality … It’s a good thing if it’s in peacetime. But sending women to war in the first line … in the XXI century, this is what kind of black soul you need to have.

The post WOMANS IN ARMY first appeared on Global Policy.

On September 1, 2014, the US State Department published a report stating that for the first time since the collapse of the USSR, Russia has achieved parity with Washington in the field of strategic nuclear weapons. Thus, Washington recognized that Moscow had regained the status that the Soviet Union had achieved by the mid-70s of the twentieth century at the cost of incredible efforts and which (it seemed – irrevocably) it was lost by us after the collapse of the Union. As follows from the State Department report, at the moment Russia has 528 carriers of strategic nuclear weapons, on which 1,643 warheads are deployed, and the United States has 794 carriers and 1,652 nuclear warheads. It turns out that Russia’s strategic nuclear forces (SNF) today are even more high-tech than those of the United States, since they provide the final parity in warheads with a significantly smaller number of carriers of strategic nuclear weapons. And in light of the well-known statements by representatives of the Russian leadership that by 2020, Russia’s strategic nuclear forces will be fully, one hundred percent, re-equipped with new-generation missiles, this gap between Moscow and Washington will only increase.

Such a breakthrough became possible thanks to the Nuclear Arms Limitation Treaty, also known as START-3, signed by Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama on April 8, 2010 in Prague (entered into force on February 5, 2011), according to which by 2021 it is planned to reduce the nuclear warheads of the parties to 1,550 units, and carriers (intercontinental ballistic missiles, ballistic missiles of submarines and heavy bombers) – up to 700 units. This was the first agreement in the strategic field, after the treacherous policy of the “perestroika” and the Democrats, in which Russia managed to achieve significant advantages for itself. In it, for the first time, the Americans pledged to REDUCE their strategic potential, while Russia was given the opportunity to increase it. In addition, within its framework, the most important restrictions that existed in the previous START-1 and 2 treaties were lifted from Russia: on the size of the deployment areas of mobile ICBMs, on the number of multi-charged ICBMs, on the possibility of creating railway ICBMs. Russia has not made any concessions. Having written off Moscow as a serious geopolitical competitor and believing in the myth of its unattainable military and technological superiority, Washington has driven itself into such a trap, the way out of which – at least in the near and medium term – is not even visible. And it’s not just about strategic nuclear forces. Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the so-called “sixth generation wars” and high-precision long-range weapons, which are designed to ensure victory over the enemy without coming into direct contact with its armed forces. But apart from the fact that this concept itself is very doubtful (neither in Iraq nor in Afghanistan could the United States retain the victory achieved in this way), Russia is also reaching a parity line here. The proof of this is the new generation of long–range cruise missiles, which will soon be deployed on submarines of the Black Sea Fleet and missile ships of the Caspian Flotilla.

In Russia today, many people find it hard to believe

Such distrust is especially widespread in the circles of the so-called “patriotic public” due to the fact that our public opinion is firmly and selflessly held captive by numerous myths about Russia’s total “weakness” and total Western “superiority”. These myths were formed back in the “dashing 90s” under the influence of Yeltsin’s betrayal of our national interests and the brutal Russophobia of the then-dominant liberal-democratic “masters” of Russia. It must be admitted that in those days they fully corresponded to the sad reality. But times have changed. And this can be easily understood if you do not try to replace a sober analysis with slogans and chants, and facts with fictions and fantasies.

Russian tanks in Europe

Consider, for example, the potential of conventional weapons of Russia and the West in the European theater of operations (Theater of Operations). In this area, as it is considered in a “decent patriotic society”, NATO is almost an order of magnitude superior to “weak” Russia. But the first encounter with reality leaves no stone unturned from such a delusion. As you know, the main striking force and the core of the combat power of the Ground Forces are tanks. By the time of the collapse of the USSR, our Armed Forces had about 20,000 tanks in their composition on the European Theater of Operations. The Americans, in turn, deployed a group of 6,000 heavy Abrams tanks on the territory of the Allies. But, despite this, the combined potential of NATO in Europe was still significantly inferior to the Soviet one. And NATO strategists were forced to compensate for this imbalance with the help of tactical nuclear weapons (TNW). Back in the first half of the 1950s, NATO conducted a study on what forces the bloc needed to have in order to reliably repel a large-scale land offensive by the superior forces of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact countries. Then the calculations showed that to solve this problem it is necessary to have at least 96 full-blooded divisions. Meanwhile, the cost of arming one such division alone exceeded $1 billion. (and this is not in current dollars, but in the prices of that time!). Plus, about 2-3 times more funds were required for the maintenance of such a huge group of troops and the creation of appropriate infrastructure. Such a burden was clearly beyond the power of the Western economy. The solution was found in deploying a grouping of American tactical nuclear weapons on the continent, which was soon done. By the beginning of the 1970s, the American arsenal of TNW, according to experts, already numbered about 7 thousand ammunition for various purposes, and the highest achievement in this field was considered to be the creation of selective action weapons – neutron charges (for 203 mm and 155 mm guns, as well as for Lance missiles) with a capacity of 1 to 10 kilotons, which were considered as the main means of combating the personnel of the ground forces, especially the crews of Soviet tanks. Taking into account the nuclear factor, in order to repel the “Soviet aggression”, NATO needed to deploy not 96, but only 30 divisions, and they were deployed. How are things in this area now? And here’s how: at the beginning of 2013, the last batch of heavy Abrams was withdrawn by the Americans from Europe. In the NATO countries, over the past 20 years, 10-15 “old”, but in fact – quite combat-ready vehicles were scrapped for one new tank that entered service. At the same time, Russia has hardly reduced its tanks. As a result, today OUR COUNTRY IS THE ABSOLUTE LEADER HERE: in mid-2014, there were as many as 18,177 tanks on the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense (T–90 – 400 units, T–72B – 7144 units, T–80 – 4744 units, T–64 – 4000 units, T-62 – 689 units and T-55 – 1200 units). Of course, only a few thousand vehicles are deployed in the units of constant readiness, and most of them are located in storage bases, but the picture is exactly the same for NATO members. So the decisive superiority of Russian tanks has not gone anywhere since the Soviet era, strange as it may seem, “patriotic” mourners and all-sufferers will hear it! Okay, the corrosive reader will say. But some of these tanks should be kept in the Far East, because China has its own 8,000 armored vehicles. In addition, NATO, as before, can compensate for this imbalance with the help of tactical nuclear weapons. So, even more reliable and cheaper… And here another surprise awaits us. In the field of TNW, the superiority of modern Russia over NATO is absolutely crushing!

Washington’s Fatal Miscalculation

And the Americans are well aware of this. Russian just used to think that Russia would never rise again, that the possibility of a big war in Europe was reduced to zero and the Russian TNW, along with Russian tanks, would eventually crumble from old age and uselessness. And now… now they’ve woken up, but it’s too late – the train has left! Here it must be said that this nuclear weapon can be called “tactical” very conditionally. Sometimes it significantly exceeds the power of warheads mounted on strategic ICBMs. I will point out for example that the range of safe firing of Russian 65-76K torpedoes in the nuclear version is eleven and a half kilometers, otherwise you can get under the blast wave of your own torpedo. And this despite the fact that the range of these torpedoes does not exceed 50 km. And, for example, the tactical bombs of the USA (B-61, 170 kt) and Russia (up to 350 kt) significantly exceed the warheads of the strategic American ICBMs Minuteman-2 (170 kt) and the Poseidon SLBM (40 kt) in their power. It would be useful to recall here that only two atomic bombs with a capacity of 15 kt (tactical, according to the current classification), dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, brought Japan out of the war three weeks later… So, NATO countries currently have only 260 tactical nuclear munitions in the European Theater of Operations. The United States has 200 aerial bombs with a total capacity of 18 megatons. They are stationed at six air bases in Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey. France has another 60 atomic bombs. That’s it! And Russia today, according to the most conservative estimates, has no less than five thousand units of TNW of different classes – from warheads for Iskanders to torpedo, aviation and artillery missiles! True, the United States has 300 more tactical B-61 bombs on its own territory, but with such an imbalance, this, you know, does not change things. And the United States cannot change this imbalance: they have destroyed the rest of the “legacy of the Cold War” — tactical nuclear shells, land–based missiles, and nuclear warheads of Tomahawk sea-based cruise missiles. And the Americans are well aware of this. These are nuclear charges of aerial bombs, warheads of tactical missiles “Luna”, “Tochka”, “Oka”, nuclear warheads of anti-submarine and anti-ship weapons of the fleet, special warheads of air defense and missile defense missiles, nuclear mines and nuclear artillery shells of the Ground Forces. This impressive arsenal was the result of a forty-year intense arms race, initiated, by the way, not by the “totalitarian” USSR, but by the quite democratic and liberal USA, which already in the early 1950s began to develop and test various types of TNW. The first example of a warhead of this class was a projectile for a 280-mm cannon, with a capacity of 15 kt, tested in May 1953. With the miniaturization of nuclear warheads, projectiles for self-propelled howitzers of 203 mm and 155 mm caliber were subsequently adopted, which had a power of 1 to 10 kt and until recently were in the arsenal of American troops in Europe. Subsequently, tactical missiles with nuclear warheads were put into service: “Redstone” (range 370 kilometers), “Corporal” (125 kilometers), “Sergeant” (140 kilometers), “Lance” (130 kilometers) and a number of others. In the mid-1960s, the development of the Pershing-1 tactical missile (740 kilometers) was completed. In turn, the Soviet military-political leadership decided that the saturation of American troops in Europe with TNW creates a fundamentally new balance of forces on the continent. Decisive measures were taken to create and deploy numerous types of Soviet TNW. Already in the early 1960s, tactical missiles T-5, T-7, and Luna began to arrive in the troops. Later, the non-strategic nuclear arsenal included medium-range missiles RSD-10, R-12, R-14, medium-range bombers Tu-22, Tu-16, tactical missiles OTR–22, OTR-23, tactical – R-17, “Dot”, 152 mm caliber nuclear artillery, 203 mm and 240 mm, tactical aircraft Su-17, Su-24, MiG-21, MiG-23, sea-based vehicles. By the way, the Soviet leadership has repeatedly offered Western leaders to start negotiations on reducing tactical nuclear weapons. But NATO for a long time stubbornly rejected all the proposals of the USSR on this topic. The situation changed radically only when the Union staggered under the blows of Gorbachev’s “perestroika”. Then Washington felt that it was necessary to use the moment to weaken and disarm its main geopolitical opponent as much as possible. In September 1991, US President George W. Bush took the initiative to reduce and even eliminate certain types of TNW. Gorbachev, in turn, also announced plans for a radical reduction of similar weapons in the USSR. Subsequently, these plans were developed in the statement of Russian President Boris Yeltsin “On Russia’s policy in the field of arms limitation and reduction” of January 29, 1992. It indicated that the production of nuclear artillery shells and warheads for ground-based missiles had been discontinued in Russia, and all stocks of such warheads would be destroyed. Russia will remove all TNW from surface ships and multipurpose submarines and eliminate one third. Half of the warheads for anti-aircraft missiles and aviation ammunition will also be eliminated. After these reductions, Russia and the United States were supposed to have 2500-3000 tactical nuclear warheads in the arsenals of TNW. But it turned out differently. The illusion of world hegemony played a cruel joke on Washington. “Democratic” Russia, after the terrible pogrom that their liberal agents staged here, was written off by American strategists. At the same time, after their high–precision weapons successfully coped with some combat tasks previously planned for TNW during the Gulf War, Washington bet on a technological breakthrough. But this led to the fact that “smart” weapons became more and more expensive, less and less of them were produced, and in the end, NATO’s “high-precision ammunition” turned out to be completely insufficient for conducting large-scale hostilities with an enemy at least approximately equal to the West in terms of its technological level.

“Borjom” for decomposed kidneys

Meanwhile, in Russia, experts quickly agreed that in the geostrategic situation that has developed since the collapse of the USSR, a landslide reduction and destruction of TNW is unacceptable. After all, it is TNW, which has quite high indicators according to the criterion of “efficiency-cost”, can serve as a kind of universal equalizer of forces, depriving NATO of their military advantage. Under the circumstances, Russia simply borrowed from NATO the thesis that was recently used by the alliance about the need to compensate for enemy superiority in conventional weapons by deploying a tactical nuclear arsenal on the European Theater of Operations.

This is how the situation has been developing for two decades

The West, having written off Russia, cut its tanks, destroyed tactical nuclear ammunition. Russia, feeling its weakness, left both tanks and tactical nuclear ammunition as an “armored train on a siding.” This is what has led to the fact that now – after Russia has overcome the inertia of disintegration and has begun a systematic revival of its power, and the West, lulled by sweet dreams of a liberal “end of history”, has castrated its armed forces to the point where they are capable of waging only colonial wars with a weak, technically backward enemy – The balance of power in Europe has radically changed in our favor. Realizing this, the Americans caught on, but it was too late. In December 2010, the Assistant Secretary of State for Verification, Compliance and Implementation of Agreements, Rose Gottemoeller, sounded the alarm: “The Russians have more tactical nuclear systems than we do, and Congress strongly recommends that these issues be addressed… The next step should be the reduction of tactical nuclear weapons.” Even more active in the same year were the Europeans in the person of the foreign ministers of Poland and Sweden, who blindly demanded from Russia the unilateral creation of two nuclear–free zones – the Kaliningrad Region and the Kola Peninsula – territories of priority deployment of the Russian TNW, including the main areas of the Baltic and Northern Fleets (in the case of the Northern Fleet, this is also the area where a significant part of the Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces are based). Since then, the Americans have repeatedly offered our country a flawed way to solve the “TNW problem”, stubbornly insisting on developing an agreement “to eliminate inequality in tactical nuclear weapons stocks.” They even tried to condition the entry into force of the OSV-3 treaty on the start of negotiations on TNW. Thus, in accordance with Senator Sene Lemieux’s amendment (Amendment 4/S.AMDN.4908), the final entry into force of the OSV-3 should take place only after the consent of the Russian side to negotiations on the issue of the so-called “elimination of the imbalance” in the tactical nuclear weapons of Russia and the United States. And already on February 3, 2011, Barack Obama, in a letter sent to a number of key senators, announced “the beginning of negotiations with Russia in the near future on eliminating the disparity between tactical nuclear weapons of the Russian Federation and the United States and reducing the number of tactical nuclear warheads in a verifiable way.” But alas! In 2012, Putin returned to the Kremlin and the West’s hopes of “diluting” Russia by inclining it to unilateral disarmament failed.

***

The price of this failure became more or less clear during the Ukrainian crisis. And this price is as follows: the West has lost its former military superiority over Russia, and in the European theater of operations it turned out to be MANY TIMES WEAKER than Moscow. And there are no ways to correct this disparity, neither Washington, nor London, nor Berlin, nor Paris.

The post PUTIN’S NUCLEAR SURPRISE first appeared on Global Policy.

What could be more important in a weapon than the iron from which it is created? Idea. Concept. The doctrine within which it is created. American multiple launch rocket systems at the project stage were radically different from their Soviet counterparts. In the USSR, MLRS were considered as a means of creating a dense firing shaft. The United States conceived its brainchild as a tool capable of breaking the prohibitive numerical superiority of the artillery of the Warsaw Pact bloc with high-speed and surgically accurate strikes. The Soviet defense industry continued to think in terms of the Second World War, while the United States, realizing the conceptual impasse of the symmetrical arms race, relied on the creation of a new generation of weapons.

This is how the M270 MLRS – installation appeared, on the basis of which HIMARS was subsequently created (it should be noted that this is de facto the same system, which has a difference only in the type of conveyor and the number of launchers). At the time of its first combat use in 1991, the M270 was a weapon of a slightly different order than its modern variants. At that time, this multiple launch rocket system performed primarily the tasks of counter–battery warfare – it was the M270 MLRS that became the main tool of the US Army in the fight against numerous, well-equipped and experienced Iraqi artillery using unguided M26 missiles. The scheme of the destruction of Iraqi batteries was, in general, simple and elegant – small mobile groups of armored vehicles provoked the Iraqis to use artillery, the positions of which were detected using mobile counter-battery radars. Further, MLRS entered the work, suppressing the enemy’s positions, while being out of reach of his firepower.

By itself, from the point of view of technology, the M270 at that time did not represent something that would be an order of magnitude superior to competitors – on the contrary, the impressive results of its combat use were dictated primarily by advanced tactics and an extremely competent concept. The installation did not have a radical superiority in range over Soviet weapons (relatively speaking, 30 km versus 20 km) – its trump card was accuracy, mobility and constant work in conjunction with intelligence means.

M270 MLRS

The main advantage of American multiple launch rocket systems over competitors from other countries was the reloading of packages. If the Soviet Grad required from 30 to 50 minutes to fully recharge (each rocket is loaded manually), then the M270 takes only about five minutes; at the same time, the process itself does not physically burden the installation crew.

HIMARS RECHARGE PROCESS

The process of recharging is simple and fast – anyone can easily find a video and review it in detail

The combat path of American MLRS in Iraq and Afghanistan as a prologue of application in the current war

Following the results of the wars with Iraq, the United States took the path of modernization of the M270 – firstly, a lighter version of the installation was created in the person of HIMARS, and secondly, emphasis was placed on the development of the key qualities of the system – its range and accuracy.

United States completely stopped the production of unguided missiles – they were replaced by heavy guided missiles M30 / M31, which significantly increased the potential of the system, making it extremely accurate and long-range.

Due to their evolution, M270 and HIMARS occupied a niche of tactical aviation in terms of combat capabilities – in order to make sure of this, it is enough to track the combat path of vehicles during conflicts against the Taliban and ISIS. MLRS were actively used in conjunction with raid groups, striking both targets identified by intelligence (warehouses, barracks, communication and control points, drug laboratories), and as a tool for direct fire support of Special Operations Forces units or the Marine Corps. The high speed of deployment and course correction of missiles using GPS made it possible to strike less than 100 meters from American positions within 5-7 minutes after the request of ground forces for fire support. During the fighting against the forces of the Islamic State, American Special Operations Forces stormed the cities of Iraq, relying primarily on HIMARS. Small groups of MTR infiltrated through the militants’ defense lines, identifying the positions of the latter, after which they transmitted the coordinates to the MLRS calculations. Such tactics made it possible to deliver targeted strikes in an urban environment, achieving maximum effect in the destruction of militants, while significantly minimizing civilian casualties.

Why are we even interested in the combat path of HIMARS and its progenitor in Middle Eastern conflicts?

Because it is directly related to the use of the system by the army of Ukraine. To be more precise, we are talking about embedding this MLRS into the staff and organizational structure of the APU. Judging by a number of signs, the HIMARS transferred to Ukraine are used precisely based on the experience of their use in Iraq and Afghanistan – the installations are at the disposal of the Special Operations Forces and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This, in turn, determines the choice of targets for which Haimars is used – these are headquarters, ammunition depots of the divisional level and above, as well as air defense systems.

The pattern of actions is more than transparent – after careful reconnaissance, installations strike at the most vulnerable places of any army – command and supply, in the long term paralyzing its actions and preventing it from conducting offensive operations.

As the Ukrainian army becomes saturated with the M270 MLRS and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, it is expected that a significant part of the installations will be transferred to the subordination of the army command (as a brigade–level fire weapon) and will begin to be used as a means of counter-battery warfare in the most dangerous areas – that is, to do what they were originally created for: to suppress numerically superior, but much less technologically advanced Soviet-style artillery.

As a counter–battery asset, the Haimars in their current form are practically invulnerable weapons – they can quickly change positions and fire beyond the reach of almost the entire Russian rocket and artillery arsenal (with the exception of the OTRK).

Moreover, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have training for the implementation of American counter-battery tactics and appropriate equipment: network-centric command and control systems, mass digital radio communications, mobile radars and unmanned reconnaissance systems.

All this will have a very strong impact on the combat work of the Russian artillery – it will be forced to resort to the tactics of “hit and run”, abandoning its usual tactics of massing and over-concentration of firepower in narrow sections of the front. This will require a completely different level of organization quality and competencies – for the implementation of “hit and run”, a functioning reconnaissance circuit is needed (fewer released ammunition requires more thorough reconnaissance and target selection), logistics at least at the level of the 80s of the last century (and not the First World War), high qualification and initiative of personnel (in conditions of constant threat from the enemy’s KB-means it is necessary to carefully equip firing positions, knowledge of camouflage techniques, covert movement and deployment, the ability to deploy quickly and leave positions even faster).

HIMARS – what’s next?

Separately, it is worth noting that HIMARS is an extremely unpleasant target for intelligence. It is extremely difficult to calculate the complex using data from satellite images, aerial reconnaissance (and sometimes ground) because of the visual similarity with a conventional army truck – and this is a very useful property for a system that can fire, including using MGM–146 tactical missiles at a range of more than 300 km (as and the “younger” M30/31, this rocket has a GPS correction and can fly several hundred kilometers, landing, say, in a house. Or a bunker. Or an ammunition depot. Or… continue by yourself).

HIMARS WITH MGM-146 ROCKET

Ukraine currently does not have this type of ammunition, but it is probably only a matter of time. Most likely, they will be transferred by the Americans upon reaching a certain threshold of losses of the Russian air defense – ballistic missiles, due to their easily calculated trajectory, are a fairly vulnerable target for SAMs, however, with a general decrease in the density of the Russian air defense, they can be used with a much higher probability of success.

In fact, the strikes of the Ukrainian army on the positions of the Russian air defense were also more than predictable and understandable – and the point here is not even the high priority of the air defense system as, without a doubt, an important goal, but the fact that HIMARS over the past few years have been considered by the Pentagon precisely as a means of breaking through Russian restricted access zones and the subsequent implementation of an air-ground offensive: ground forces pave the way for aviation, destroying dangerous enemy assets, and aviation, in turn, does the same for ground forces. We see something similar in Ukraine – most of the HIMARS strikes are accompanied by the active work of Ukrainian tactical aviation.

Frankly speaking, calling HIMARS “just MLRS” is stupidity of the highest standard

This is by no means an ordinary weapon system, which, even at the dawn of its appearance in the face of the M270, surpassed everything that the Soviet Union created (whose weapons make up the arsenal of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). It is no less a mistake to consider it a miracle weapon – no, like any weapon, HIMARS is good exactly within the framework of the doctrine and concept for which it was created. Its value is determined primarily by the qualifications and competence of the army that uses the system in combat.

For the armed forces of Ukraine, these installations are of great importance – after all, they, in fact, can successfully perform the tasks of strike aircraft, conduct direct fire support of offensives and ensure parity in the fight against numerous Russian artillery (which is the central force of the Russian offensive). It is also important that, thanks to the American MLRS, the Ukrainian army has literally returned to the most convenient and familiar asymmetric type of combat operations for it in a week – striking at Russian military logistics, the armed forces of Ukraine does not allow themselves to be drawn into exhausting battles of attrition.

The post AMERICAN MLRS HIMARS AS THE IDEA OF DOCTRINAL SUPERIORITY first appeared on Global Policy.

Modern armed conflict dictates new rules for the military-industrial complex. Modern wars follow different rules. Precision weapons became commonplace even in the hands of “rebels”. The conflicts in Ukraine, Libya, Syria and other regions all point to the fact that small wars now go by completely different rules. Precision and guided weapons have become an attribute of all the recent wars on our planet…

I think no one will deny the fact that the war in the sense in which we understood and knew it, if we do not talk about a full-scale war with fronts and nuclear weapons, has undergone significant changes, and I think the Russian defense Ministry should pay close attention to this fact.

The war in Ukraine, the civil war in Libya, the war in Syria, armed conflicts in Yemen and other regions, all indicate that small wars now go by completely different rules.

The time when guided weapons were available only to privileged militants has passed without a trace. In contemporary armed conflicts, anti-tank, anti-tank systems and MANPADS, sticking out from almost every bump…

How could anyone have imagined 10 years ago that the militants of the so-called Syrian opposition, during the armed conflict in Syria, will use chemical warfare agents and attack drones. How could anyone imagine that the Yemeni Houthis would resist the Arab coalition for four years and even launch rocket and bomb attacks on the cities of Saudi Arabia?

Probably, somewhere in the gallery of military-political thought, there were such theses, but no one seriously talked about it. And today, it’s the harsh truth of our lives.

If we look closely at the range of weapons used in the so-called small wars or armed conflicts, we can see that such a class of weapons as precision and guided weapons has become a direct attribute of all the recent wars on our planet. And this is not counting EW systems, intelligence, communications and combat control.

What used to be available only to the leading powers of the world, today is actively used in every military conflict on our planet.

When I was at the Army-2019 forum, I was interested in how our modern weapons and military equipment correspond to the challenges and threats that are dictated by the realities of the same war in Syria. And I have to admit the fact that while our weapons and military equipment generally correspond to the concept of waging a modern major war, there is still work to be done in relation to the armed conflicts that are taking place today in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Donbas, and even in Africa.

Let’s start with the sore spot, with the connection

Let us, for example, take KAMAZ-63968 “Typhoon”, which is armed with the military police of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation and is actively exploited in Syria. Modern wars follow different rules. Precision weapons have become commonplace even in the hands of “rebels»

KAMAZ-63968 ” TYPHOON»

Typhoon K-63968 is equipped with five video cameras for all-around view in the landing module and cockpit. The cabin is equipped with folding monitors, showing both the condition of the car and the external review.

The vehicle is equipped with on-Board Information and Control System (bius) GALS-D1M to monitor and regulate the engine, calculate the roll of the machine, the slope of the road, speed, location, etc. the Machine is excellent. I’d take one.

However, the problem is that those design bureaus that created it, they did it, based on those technical specifications and conceptual approaches that inevitably rely on the tactics of the Russian armed forces in the war described by the old combat regulations. This machine is not equipped with the telecommunications and information media it needs as part of the functions it performs in Syria.

Simply put, Typhoon K-63968 has the means of communication that would be necessary for this technique, if it was used as part of a motorized rifle battalion, but these means of communication and transmission of information are absolutely insufficient in the performance of patrol functions of the military police on this machine.

Russian communication troops are present in Syria, and they really provide reliable communication and data transmission, but only within the Hmeimim air base and the port of Tartus, and then Hello to my favorites from the company “NGO Angstrom” with their budget P-187 “Azart” and TETRA mode, since outside the bases of the Russian armed forces in Syria, everyone uses mobile phones and Chinese “balalaika” working in the bands of Syrian trunking communications.

This is indeed a fact, since in the Idlib zone of joint patrol, the Russian military police have to use mobile phones. I know of at least four such cases. You can say it’s not much, but that’s just what I know…

Sergei Pavlovich Korolev attribute the phrase – ” I do not agree-criticize, criticize-offer, offer-do, do-answer!»

Do, until not in my competence. Did would-responded. In the meantime, I can only offer.

For some reason, in Russia, the means of space communication are considered as an attribute of elite affiliation, although those satellite groups that are in service with the Ministry of defense and that provide communication to our troops, at best, are used with 20% efficiency.

On the contrary, satellite communication in the us army, is not an attribute of the authorities and is quite available even in the company link.

Even the militants, the so-called “Syrian opposition”, are armed with American base terminals AN/PRC-155 Manpack from General Dynamics, which not only create a secure mobile communication cell, but also allow via satellite is constantly in touch with its American curator.

Modern wars follow different rules

Precision weapons became commonplace even in the hands of “rebels”. Alas, in our armed forces, there are no such terminals. In the best case, if some special forces group will be given a satellite phone and strictly forbidden to call it.

In my opinion, all high-security vehicles used by the military police, and ideally, most of the military equipment of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, should be equipped with satellite communications and telecommunications. This is due to the fact that in those armed conflicts in which our armed forces take part, communication is not only an element of tactical control, but also the possibility of operational influence on the information and political situation of the conflict. And in the conditions of hybrid wars, it is sometimes more important than maintaining radio silence. But that’s not all.

To date, our military communications facilities, which are installed on military equipment and operated in the armed forces do not have the technical capability to support self-organizing broadband decentralized digital data networks. In other words, the radio station, which is installed on the same Typhoon K-63968 is unable to function as a base station, providing stronger coverage of the territory where the crew of this military equipment performs its tasks.

Not let us far stray from KAMAZ-63968 “Typhoon” and turn to the second issue

Looking through the reports of hostilities in Yemen, Syria, Donbas and even in Israel, we can notice a certain pattern and similarity of these military conflicts.

Anti-tank guided weapons systems, perhaps, have become the main attribute of the war. In addition to artillery, the main losses in manpower and equipment, the parties to these armed conflicts are from the use of ATGM and ATGM.

Those who are interested in the problems of modern armed conflicts, know perfectly well that the entire YouTube is littered with footage of the Houthis, where in Yemen they burn guided missiles military equipment of Saudi Arabia. Modern military equipment, which is made to the same standards of protection as the Russian KAMAZ-63968 “Typhoon”.

It is important to note that the American armored vehicles, which are armed with Saudi Arabia, that the Russian “Typhoon”, perfectly protect from bullets and mines, but they are completely defenseless before the ATGM and ATGM.

The war in Syria was no exception

During this armed conflict, the militants of the so-called Syrian opposition, as well as militants of terrorist groups, repeatedly demonstrated footage of the use of ATGM and ATGM on military equipment of the Syrian army and it should be noted that this type of weapons caused significant damage to government units.

To this day, Syria retains those areas, especially adjacent to Idlib or the terrorist enclave in Al-TANF, under the control of the United States, where there are ambushes of opposition fighters and terrorists with the use of ATGM and ATGM.

As an example of the use of ATGM and ATGM can lead the war in the Donbass, where in the conditions of positional conflict, this type of weapons is actively used not only to defeat military equipment, but also to damage personnel located in fortifications.

The modern concept of the use of weapons and military equipment by the main armies of the world as a whole is similar and develops quite linearly.

To date, the classic army consider the use of active protection systems against ATGM and ATGM exclusively on heavy and medium armored vehicles-tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and APCS.

Even Israel, which is in a state of armed conflict with the Hezbollah group, only in 2006, after the second Lebanese war, decided to equip merkav tanks with active protection complexes “Trophy”.

In modern wars, when the use of light armored vehicles, such as MRAP has become quite widespread, and the role of armored vehicles, tanks, IFVs, APCS was reduced to fire support, the role of ATGM and ATGM on the battlefield is often crucial.

Given these circumstances, there is an urgent need to ensure the protection of light armored wheeled vehicles, such as MRAP, from the defeat of guided weapons such as ATGM and ATGM.

To date, not all manufacturers of active protection systems of armored vehicles are ready to install their developments on light wheeled armored vehicles. Perhaps the only solution in the field of active protection systems of light armored vehicles presented by the German company IBD Deisenroth Engineering. Their KAZ AMAP-ADS system can be adapted for passenger transport applications.

As for the Russian systems of active protection of armored vehicles, the most advanced KAZ “Afganit” is installed on those types of weapons that are created within the framework of the Armata project and due to these circumstances KAZ “Afganit” does not have a sufficiently wide distribution.

I believe that the Russian defense Ministry should somewhat revise and adjust the specifications that it issues to our manufacturers of weapons and military equipment.

In my opinion, the military equipment, such as MRAP, which is supplied to the Russian army, should by default be equipped with active protection systems, such as KAZ “Afganit”. This is due to the trends that dictate modern armed conflicts, because the probability of getting under fire ATGM and ATGM, for example, in Syria, the military police unit of the Russian Federation on KAMAZ-63968 “Typhoon”, is much higher than the tank of the 25th division of the SPN” tiger Forces”, which provides fire support for offensives.

Of course, active protection systems are expensive, and they significantly increase the cost of military equipment.

But the question of price is a relative question. Just the other day, Yemeni Houthis attacked an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia using UAVs and ballistic missiles.

Even if we assume that these strike UAVs cost several tens of thousands of dollars, and missiles hundreds of thousands of dollars, the damage to Saudi Arabia is estimated in billions of losses, and the world economy will lose trillions from rising prices for energy resources.

And in this case, the actual practice of modern armed conflicts shows us that the question of the need to equip light armored vehicles, such as MRAP, with active protection systems, is completely irrelevant. Of course you need to equip. And the sooner this is done, the more likely it is that Russian units that in one way or another are involved in modern armed conflicts will not suffer from the fire of ATGM and ATGM.

The question of additional protection is fair not only in relation to light armored vehicles, such as KAMAZ-63968 “Typhoon”, it is more than fair even in relation to such types of weapons as zrpk “Armor” and SAM ” TOR ” and others…

Ask what does the active protection and air defense systems?

And despite the fact that there is a characteristic example that directly indicates that all military air defense systems must have such protection.

This example is in Syria, where during combat use, one of the zrpk “Shell”, was destroyed by a guided missile from an Israeli air force aircraft.

Of course, we can say that this complex was destroyed as a consequence of the negligence of the combat crew, which did not change position after the exhaustion of ammunition, and we can say that the zrpk “Armor” after the exhaustion of ammunition, became defenseless for attacks of guided weapons of the air – surface class. And then, and then, to be fair. Of course, you can rely on the qualification of combat calculations of military air defense systems, but in my opinion, additional insurance would not be superfluous.

I think it would be wise on the basis of the active protection system, to create for existing and future systems military air defense the last line of defense that was intended to ensure the safety and protection of the car’s air defense against possible missile attacks. Not only when this system has exhausted ammunition, but also in those cases when the air defense is broken and the air defense installation itself comes under attack.

There is another point that in my opinion requires attention

The experience of the armed conflict in Syria has shown that the protection systems that are installed on the aircraft of the Russian aerospace forces, on the equipment of the army aviation, is not a panacea for a possible attack using guided missiles or MANPADS.

We all remember how on February 3, 2018, a su-25 attack aircraft was shot down from MANPADS near Idlib. Pilot major Roman Filipov ejected and died in battle with terrorists Dzhebhat al-Nusra.

On 8 July 2016, a Russian mi-35M helicopter under the control of Russian instructor pilots Ryafagat Khabibulin and Yevgeny Dolgin was shot down by ISIS militants from the ATGM “TOW”. The helicopter crashed in an area controlled by the Syrian government army, the pilots were killed. Even from the fire of militants, Russia lost 3 helicopters.

Of course, new aircraft protection systems are being developed and implemented in Russia, the President-C system is already in place and is being put into service, which is capable of protecting aviation equipment not only from the Igla MANPADS, but also countering missiles of previous models, such as the Strela and foreign weapons of this class, such as the American-made Stinger systems.

This is really good, but this system at best provides protection for aircraft from missiles with infrared homing head and which are used on the principle of-shot and forgot.

However, there is a mass of guided weapons, which is armed with the same fighters of the Syrian opposition, which does not use the principles of automatic homing on the target. The same ATGM “TOW”, which terrorists shot down our helicopters, is corrected after a shot on wires. And our army aviation, which performs the main work in Syria, has no means of protection against such weapons. Heat traps, radio suppression, target simulators, laser illumination of homing heads, all this is useless against guided weapons, after which the missile flight is corrected by the shooter.

ATGM “TOW”

In my opinion, there is an urgent need to improve systems to counter such threats. In addition to thermal traps and laser illumination, which counteract the IR homing missiles, electronic jamming systems, which are designed to counteract the radio command and radar guidance, other systems of counteraction, it seems to me it is necessary to create elements of kinetic interception, both existing and prospective ammunition ATGM, ATGM and MANPADS.

What could it be

For example, special ammunition can be placed in the containers of shooting ltts, which when shooting move in the direction of an incoming missile ATGM, ATGM or MANPADS, and at a certain moment are undermined by a radio command fuse, thereby destroying fragments or knocking off course threatening ammunition.

For helicopters of army aviation, for example, you can create lateral rotating machine guns, which are used as machine-gun turret on the platform “Armata”, is paired with KAZ “Afghani”, in fact due to what military equipment on the platform has a protection upper hemisphere from potential attacks ATGM. As a special case, for these purposes, you can use a four-barreled aviation machine gun caliber 7.62 mm GSHG-7.62 Tula “design Bureau of instrumentation”. As it seems to me, it should cope with this function more than positively.

Another point that I would like to note as a trend of modern armed conflicts is the flow of the intensity of hostilities in conditions of limited visibility – that is, in the night.

Many have seen on YouTube summaries of the fighting, either on the channels of official sources, or on the channel AnnaNews, where you can see how the aircraft VKS strikes and hunt almost for individual cyclists militants.

In fact it is not for nothing

The fact is that the terrorists, understanding the technical capabilities of both the Syrian army and the Russian aerospace forces are trying to regroup and move their forces in such a way that it does not cause attention from the operators of UAVs and, as a consequence, air strikes.

To do this, the terrorists have developed a strategy of daily accumulation of forces and means in shelters, where the militants arrive in small groups or single order using individual vehicles in the form of mopeds, motorcycles or bicycles. And with the onset of darkness already carry out their sorties.

And if those units of the Syrian army, which operate in close conjunction with the Russian command of the Hmeimim air base, have the technical capabilities of reconnaissance and combat operations at night, then most of the units of the Syrian army do not have such a possibility and at night they bear significant losses from terrorist attacks.

In turn, the militants of the so-called Syrian opposition or terrorists operating under the auspices of the United States, are well equipped and have all the necessary technical capabilities to conduct combat operations at night.

Again, we can cite as an example the long-suffering Donbass, where the armed forces of Ukraine practically on a daily basis are shelling the territory of peaceful cities that are attached to the contact line. This armed conflict also predominantly takes place at night. This is due to the fact that it is much easier for armed formations of Ukraine to mask the advance of their equipment and fire groups from the OSCE monitoring mission at night.

As a conclusion, I would like to say that all these trends in modern armed conflicts certainly make new demands not only on the range of technical means that are designed to enable the Russian army to conduct combat operations at night, in the conditions of active use of guided weapons, but also requires the development of new tactics, new approaches to combat operations, which will be based, as well as on modern capabilities of weapons and military equipment, and features of hybrid warfare.

The post MODERN RULES OF WARFARE first appeared on Global Policy.

At the exercise “Center” near Orenburg, which Putin watched, the armed forces demonstrated a new tactic of fighting against a modern enemy. In addition, the experience gained by the army in Syria was applied for the first time. Experts assessed this as a new word in military science.

More than two thousand paratroopers and 200 armored vehicles conducted a simultaneous landing on Friday during the draw of the main stage of the strategic exercises “Center-2019”, the defense Ministry said on Friday. In a one-time landing for the first time in full strength with regular weapons and military equipment participated personnel of the parachute regiment from Ivanovo.

It was the largest landing of manpower and armored vehicles in the history of the Russian army. The operation involved 71 Il-76 aircraft. Paratroopers landed in the rear of the imaginary enemy, struck into the flank of his shock troops, capturing field airport and surrounding important objects.

“The main feature of the exercises in Donguz is that the armed forces have finally run in new tactics that have emerged in recent years,” said military expert Vladislav Shurygin. – It is sharpened under one of the newest formations-a separate assault brigade. It was a kind of presentation.”

This brigade demonstrates what is called “vertical combat” – it lands from helicopters and works on modern high-tech enemy with the support of strike aircraft, the source explained. In his opinion, such a “volumetric type” of attack is a very serious step forward.

Professor of the Academy of military Sciences Vadim Kozyulin adds that such large-scale airborne landings were often practiced in the Soviet years, “when it was necessary to demonstrate power, for example, on the border with China during a serious aggravation,” but now they are rarely carried out.

“The last time a similar landing, although not on this scale, was carried out in Tajikistan on the border with Afghanistan. It was a clear demonstration of the capabilities of our armed forces, including paratroopers, ” Kozyulin said.

The expert noted that if in the past such maneuvers were carried out on the borders with neighboring countries, now – in the center of Russia, which can be regarded as a presentation of new tactics, and internal presentation, not designed for a potential enemy. “I would regard these maneuvers in Donguz more as good army training than as a message to the West,” the expert stressed.

Recall, the last time the mass landing of the airborne forces was held at the exercises of Russia and Tajikistan in March 2017, but it was as numerous as in Donguz. In the maneuvers on the ground Charbydon, 15 km from the border with Afghanistan, in total, involved more than two thousand military and about 700 pieces of equipment.

In Donguz also have applied a new technique of warfare

“Artillery carousel” (its main feature-the ability to go to the rear to recharge while other parts continue to fire at enemy positions). In addition, the first salvo was given by the forces of four companies armed with heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A “Sun”.

For example, the Russian military for the first time used anti-aircraft gun-missile systems “Tunguska” on ground targets of the imaginary enemy. “Conducting combat with ground units of the conventional enemy with regular weapons, the calculations of air defense worked for the first time,” the press service of the defense Ministry said. She added that Syrian troops in the fighting often fired anti-aircraft guns on the manpower and equipment of militants – to support the advancing infantry. The scenario of the exercise, “roving crews “Tunguska” conducted a radar search and tracking”, and their task was to guard the more important object – the missile complexes “Iskander-M”.

OPERATIONAL-TACTICAL COMPLEX “ISKANDER-M”

“According to the plan of one of the episodes of the exercise of the conditional enemy group on cross-country vehicles with heavy machine guns and motorcycles broke through the combat protection of the area of the launch positions of Iskander – M, the defense Ministry explained. In the end, the calculation of “Tunguska” destroyed the advancing groups of imaginary enemy fire, double-barreled automatic guns caliber 30 mm on the outskirts of “Iskander”.

Unlike maneuvers, in real combat, anti-aircraft gun-missile systems on ground targets have long been used, explained the former head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the special forces command of the Russian air force Colonel Sergei Khatylev.

“The Soviet heavy machine gun DShK was originally intended mainly for the destruction of low-altitude targets. It is widely used in modern low-intensity conflicts against ground targets. The Tunguska missile and gun system also often “worked” in this way in Afghanistan, ” the expert said.

“Now virtually all air defense systems-cannon and missile systems, anti-aircraft missile systems and systems – can hit ground targets. The famous S-300 and S-400 can also shoot at ground and surface targets. Such shootings are fulfilled in a regular order. But, given the experience of the conflict in Syria, the defense Ministry is now paying close attention to this,” Khatylev added.

“The analogue of the Tunguska is the Shilka anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, which worked in the same way not only in Syria, but also in a number of other local conflicts, for example in Chechnya. In Afghanistan, where they were extremely effective fighters called the installation “Shaitan-Arba” – adds Shurigin.

On exercises in Donguz for the first time more than 50 Russian and Chinese fighters struck a blow to the conditional opponent

In this case, the guidance system allowed the aircraft to use missile and bomb weapons, without entering the zone of destruction of air defense. Previously from China in the Orenburg region there have arrived fighters Shenyang J-11 and the bomber Xian JH-7A. Just the “heart-2019” attended by about 128 thousand troops, more than 20 thousand units of weapons and military equipment of approximately 600 aircraft and 15 ships and support vessels.

The active phase of the exercises in Donguz was observed by the heads of Russia and Kyrgyzstan Vladimir Putin and sooronbay Jeenbekov, defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, his deputies Valery Gerasimov (chief of the General staff) and Yunus – Bek Yevkurov, as well as defense Ministers of the SCO States. Putin was pleased with the exercises, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said later.

The post A NEW KIND OF OFFENSIVE IN THE RUSSIAN ARMY first appeared on Global Policy.

In 2018, a report by the international think tank RAND Corporation showed that almost two – thirds of American soldiers are overweight and even obese-at least by military standards. The us army uses the concept of body mass index-the ratio of human weight and height. At the same time, the number of those wishing to serve in the country is decreasing.

In 2017, among young people from 16 to 24 years of age, the main age group of recruits, only 11% expressed a desire to join the army. Almost every third of them were refused because of too high body mass index.

According to major General Jeffrey Phillips, retired, the us army spends more than $ 1.5 billion annually on treating obese soldiers and looking for those willing to replace them.

China: junk food and Masturbation

Too much junk food and Masturbation. This verdict was delivered to the Chinese army by the official newspaper of the people’s liberation army of China. Poor nutrition, sedentary lifestyle and… self – satisfaction-for these reasons, recruits can not pass the test of physical training necessary for service in the army. “This is due to prolonged sitting at the computer, frequent Masturbation and lack of physical activity,” – said in the published material.

Despite the lax requirements for conscripts, in 2017 at least 20% of recruits were rejected because of excess weight. Some military could not even complete the five-kilometer cross-country race.
Iran: overweight

According to the site Globalfirepower.org that specializiruetsya for the defence of the Iranian army has about half a million soldiers. However, according to a study by BMC Public Health, 13% of the military are obese and 41% overweight.

UK: harmful Goodies

In November last year, the British media and poured puns about the excess weight of the soldiers. The reason was the information that the troops stationed in Katerinska garrison, the largest military base in the North of England, was under close surveillance. It all started with the fact that the military was forbidden to go to a snack in a local cafe Gregg’s, which is known for its flour products.

The media got information about the concern of the military command in an unsightly way of the British defender, eating all sorts of harmful Goodies. Around the same time, the Ministry of defense released figures according to which, almost 10% of the military are obese. At the same time, the British army faces significant financial costs. Lord McCall, surgeon and part-time member of the house of lords, said that because of the military overweight will soon have to redo ejection seats in airplanes and emergency hatches in submarines.

India: obesity fines

According to studies conducted in 2016, a third of Indian soldiers are overweight. In April last year, the local army established strict rules aimed at combating obesity. For example, now the military overweight will not be promoted and involved in diplomatic missions. In the future, it is planned to carry out random and unscheduled inspections, as well as to fine those who weigh 10% more than the norm.

“We do not want our men to suffer from diseases caused by obesity. Moreover, the presence of such military is bad for the effectiveness of the army in the field,” the Indian officer said in an interview with India Today.

Spain: open shirts and overweight

La Legion, Spain’s famous elite infantry regiment, made headlines last year not only because of the open shirts worn by its employees.

As a result of the mandatory check of the body mass index of three thousand soldiers found that 6% of them are obese. They had to go on a special diet.

South Africa: narrow belt and extended waist

The latest statistics collected by the Military health service in 2012 showed that about 10% of South Africa’s military are obese. Experts warn that this threatens the country’s combat readiness.

“From the regular army, consisting of 76 thousand men and women, from a medical point of view, only 10% are suitable for service. This means that, given the rotation and the need for training, no more than 2 thousand people are at the permanent disposal,” Greg mills, Director of the defense Department of the Brenthurst Foundation, told South African news portal Daily Maverick.

Mexico: early retirement

In the fight against obesity, the Mexican authorities in 2015 prematurely dismissed more than 1,300 employees and ordered another 12 thousand to lose weight and get in shape.

According to a report published by the organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD) in the Same year, Mexico ranked second out of 35 countries in the number of obese people (32.4% of the population). Ahead of it only the United States (38.2%).

Russia-dismissal

In Russia, a particularly obese military may face suspension from service. As reported by the media in 2017, servicemen with obesity of the fourth degree were offered to be dismissed, and with obesity of the third degree – to transfer to equal positions away from the front line.

But there are no official open statistics on how many people and whether they were dismissed from military service because of obesity.

Why is this such a big problem?

Taking into account physical training and constant training, the military must be in better shape than the ordinary population of the country. However, there are many cases where this principle does not work. According to the findings of many scientific studies, the military are more likely to find themselves in stressful and life-threatening situations, more prone to constant lack of sleep, and all these factors lead to poor nutrition.

Whatever it was, one thing is obvious: excess weight is a serious enemy of the armed forces.

The post GLOBAL LOSS OF THE WORLD’S ARMIES IN THE WAR AGAINST OBESITY first appeared on Global Policy.

“The firm helps the government and commercial customers solve their problems in the interests of the United States…” in the United States write a lot and talk about the so-called war in the Gray zone. If the traditional armed intervention is marked in black, and the conditional world in white, the war in the Gray zone (GZ) – the fighting that is conducted in the interval. In September 2015, the White book of the command of the us special operations forces entitled “Definition of the Gray zone”was published. In particular, it States: “the security Challenges posed by the GZ, in the absence of a formal state of war, present new challenges to American politics and interests in the twenty-first century. We have well-developed terminological dictionaries, doctrines, mental models to describe war and peace, but the many challenges posed by the GZ are difficult to categorize.”

They are, according to American researchers of the secret war, defined as a competitive interaction between and within States. It is “characterized by the complexity of the nature of the conflict, the secrecy of the parties involved, the uncertainty of the political mechanisms and the legal framework”.

Regarding the uncertainty of the legal basis of the war in the GZ, the dialogue at the hearings in the us Congress at the end of 2015 on the us campaign against ISIS (a banned organization in Russia) is indicative. Congressman R. Forbes asked the then Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff J. Danford: “you have heard the Minister of defence both in writing and verbally stating that we are in a state of war. Who declared this war?”. There was no clear answer. Official statements all the more.

According to the expert John. Nifela, the American leadership believes that after the terrorist attacks “9/11” the United States is at war, although it is not formally declared. Its legal basis was not fixed by an official statement of the Congress, which, however, in 2001 authorized the use of military force, which since then has been the justification for any military action by the US armed forces against the is.

The law permits the use of the army, but does not specify the specific location and level of use. Not named criteria to classify the fighting in a particular region to the category of armed conflict. It is unknown who is considered an ally of the Islamists, and who “moderate opposition”. In other words, the GCC is a war without norms and restrictions, which unleashes the us hands to commit any crimes.

According to Nifel, “the outdated binary model of’ war-peace ‘ can be discarded forever. Now we live in a Gray area. The American counter-terrorism campaign in Pakistan, conducted mainly with the help of drones, also provides for secret actions of armed mercenaries, such as Raymond Davis, carried out on the instructions of the special services.”

Wild geese and goats

This is a sensational story in its time. A former member of the us special operations forces with ten years of experience, Davis after his dismissal from the armed forces became a PMK mercenary, performing tasks under contracts with the CIA and the Pentagon. Spying and crossing the red line. In January 2011, he killed two Pakistan intelligence officers who were following him.

The media reported on the participation of Davis in subversive actions in the territory of this country, possibly associated with a wave of terrorist attacks, which resulted in the destabilization of the Central leadership. The authorities arrested and prosecuted 45 Pakistanis allied with Davis a permanent relationship. The subversive activities of 30 us citizens conducting covert operations in Pakistan were uncovered. However, by this time a large group of “quiet Americans” had already left the country.

Davis was taken under protection by the us President. Obama motivated this by the fact that “broader principles are at stake, which we must adhere to.” The state Department immediately demanded that Islamabad release Davis. Us national security adviser Tom Donilon told the Pakistani Ambassador that if he refused, he would lose his post. Sources in the Pakistani foreign Ministry reported that President Zardari categorically demanded the release of Davis. The murder happened in January, in March the American was released. The lawyer of relatives of the victims said that they were forced to agree with this decision.

It is known that Davis first worked in a private military company Blackwater, then moved to PMC Hyperion.

Pakistan’s interior Minister said after the scandal, ” No foreign security company will be allowed to work in Pakistan anymore.” This can be considered the official position of Islamabad. Former adviser to the Prime Minister for national security, General M. Durani, confirmed, referring to the leadership of the armed forces and intelligence: “the case of Davis concluded that foreign inclusion in the security sphere works exclusively against our vital national interests.”

In such circumstances, Pakistan has decided to leave the largest multinational military and security company G4S with headquarters in the United States and the UK. According to Reuters, it operates in 120 countries and employs 623,000 people. The number of G4S personnel on the territory of Pakistan at that time was 15 000 people, the majority – former military. However, there was information that the company leaves the country only in words. In fact, it will simply be re-registered as a citizen of Pakistan.

G4S became famous for a series of high-profile scandals

Omar Matin, the shooter who slaughtered the Orlando gay club, was an employee of this company. In 2013 and 2014, he was interrogated by the FBI on suspicion of links with terrorists, but the G4S did not pay any attention to it. The company has long enjoyed notoriety. It is known that its staff beat and raped detained migrants, held children in solitary confinement and tortured prisoners around the world.

American journalists specializing in the study of terrorism in the United States, came to the conclusion that mass murder in public places, as a rule, satisfied managed on the basis of the program MK-Ultra (mind control) arrows, which in the jargon of the security services called “scapegoats”. Complex research in this area was supervised by the CIA in cooperation with the Pentagon. They were customers of developments and suppliers of “human material” for experiments.

From the publications of American experts on terrorism, it is concluded that terror is carried out through mercenaries recruited and trained by the United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other countries, and is aimed at inciting fear among the population to force it to meekly agree to the transformation of America into a police state. And to make this regime the Foundation of an emerging global Empire.

An important part of the megamachine dealing with the problem of control and manipulation of consciousness, became Tavistock Institute in England. The expert in the field of communication D. Estulin in the book about this institution writes: “the Process of creating a new fascist political order, according to the Tavistock model, had to go through the following stages:

1. Destroy the existing constitutional and democratic institutions… The planned uprising of gangs and counter-gangs with the participation of police-controlled terrorist organizations creates a political environment in which the population will be more willing to tolerate or even demand the strengthening of the military police regime, that is, the creation of the police regime with a “democratic” face.

2. By overthrowing, killing, military intervention or “spontaneous” popular uprising to eliminate regimes that have ceased to be useful, and replace them with “democratic” governments. Appointed “democratic” rulers will be able to function only within the framework that will be established for them by representatives of supranational authorities.”

Terror is an effective means of manipulating mass consciousness and establishing a global fascist order with the full consent of the masses, exerting a powerful stressful effect. This topic was part of an experiment conducted by Brigadier General John Reese, head of the Tavistock Institute. L. Marcus in the magazine Campaign for April 1974, writes:

“If the controller is able to properly take advantage of the stressful situation, he will be able to encourage the victims on their own, “democratic” way to establish for themselves the very restrictions that the dictator would like to impose on them.” In this sense, the United States has become the main testing ground for technologies of aggressive manipulation of mass consciousness.

The terrorist attack “9/11” in the United States allowed the authorities to establish unprecedented restrictions in the field of rights and freedoms, which previously did not know American history. He was instrumental in the formation in the mass consciousness of the population of America the full support of the rate of suicide for his permanent global war.

Divide and conquer!

Any terrorist attack is designed to create a situation of stress, the benefits of which are derived by those who organized the attack. The answer to the question about Orlando, who benefits, leads to thinking about different interest groups. The famous American writer P. K. Roberts lists:

“This is beneficial to the anti-Islamic lobby and trump’s company, which offers to deport Muslims from the United States. This is beneficial to the lobby, advocating the prohibition of weapons. It is beneficial to the left that wish to present as the norm for gays and transgender people and after killing them awaken people’s sympathy for them. It’s in the hands of the spy industry and the police state, who want to keep an eye on everyone. This is in the hands of Washington’s foreign policy aimed at killing, which gets grounds for justifying its actions under the pretext: if you do not interfere, then Islamic children, look what they will do to us when they grow up. This is in the interest of the neoconservatives and the military complex, including the security sector, who need a war against Muslims, promoting their agenda and filling their wallets.”

There is an artificial fragmentation of the population into groups and the cultivation of differences between them: local residents – migrants, fascists – their opponents, LGBT homophobes… In parallel, they are set off, including with the help of provocations and terrorist attacks (such as Orlando), organized by us intelligence agencies with the help of PMCs.

Investigative journalist L.Wolf writes: “The Nazi state was a product of the same financial and political circles that today control the so-called media and television. Forget about what you’re told on TV about the circumstances of Hitler’s rise to power: the path was cleared by the same oligarchs who are now paying brainwashers to create television programs. In the post-world war I period, the economic policies of this international elite contributed to the strengthening of Germany. Hitler’s Nazis were funded and supported as a political option, and then, in 1932-1933, they were helped to take power. In many ways, it would be right to view the Nazi period as an experiment in mass brainwashing and social control. This experiment was based on the desire to create a new world order…»
The fact that transnational PMCs are involved in mass killings and terrorist attacks is a well-known fact. In the tragedy in California’s San Bernardino in December 2015 featured another contractor of the Pentagon and the CIA-Craft International. As a result of the attack on the regional center for disabled people, 14 people were killed and 21 injured. During the shooting, police arrested suspects in the shooting Sayed Farouk and Tashfeen Malik. Police said they were connected to radical Islamists.

American expert on terrorism S. Kelly, who worked in the past under the contract for the CIA and the NSA, called the attack operation under a false flag and accused it of carrying out Craft International. In an interview with PressTV Kelly said:

“This is another episode in a long chain of operations under the false flag, which, I’m afraid, did not end… People who saw everything that was happening told that the shooters were three tall white men in black shirts, khaki pants and army boots. The description exactly coincides with the form of employees of PMC Craft International, who are involved in many operations under a false flag… The couple that was accused was radicalized, and there’s no doubt the NSA and the FBI were watching them the whole time. But instead of preventing them from committing a crime, they were raised specifically to be used for that purpose. They became scapegoats like so many others.”

Another terrorist attack, where there is a trace of PMCs Craft International, was committed during the Boston marathon. April 15, 2013 at the finish line two explosions, killing three people. On the night of April 19 in the suburbs of Boston, police detained a man suspected of committing a terrorist attack. It was Tamerlan tsarnaev. He, who did not resist, was wounded by the police, and soon he died in one of the local hospitals. His younger brother Johar was put on the wanted list. In the evening of the same day found it. During the arrest, he was wounded in the neck and lost the ability to speak. During the court hearings, Dzhokhar tsarnaev pleaded not guilty to any of the charges.

In the field of view of the media were at least five mercenaries in the form of Craft International with large backpacks behind him, who were in the area of the attack on the eve of the explosion. Fragments of the bag where the alleged explosive device, published by the FBI photos are identical to the material of the same backpacks.

By the way, the FBI, who arrested the Tsarnaev brothers, died after falling out of the helicopter during the “training session”. On the eve of the Boston marathon in strange circumstances was killed by the owner of Craft International Chris Kyle. Then, on may 22 during questioning by the FBI shot an acquaintance of Tamerlan Tsarnaev Ibrahim Todasheva.

As Colonel J. pointed out. Hanks, who held high positions in U.S. military intelligence and NATO intelligence agencies, “Boston is only one of five such cases in the United States. These things are definitely false flag operations, and I think it’s a lot more serious than you think.”

In his opinion, there is a split within the political and governmental structures of the United States, and the operation under the false flag in Boston was prepared and conducted under the leadership of intelligence agencies of global subordination. The American journalist John. Mazza notes that the CIA has fingerprints on the entire terrorist attack in Boston.

PMC – the shadow of the CIA

American publicist D. Lindorf writes about the relationship of PMCs Craft International with the Pentagon and the CIA: “Private military companies recruit personnel from the ranks of the American and foreign special operations forces, which are usually closely linked to the Pentagon and the CIA. Craft International is no exception.”

It is not surprising that the global Corporation G4S has strong ties with the American and British intelligence services. Its branch is the company Wackenhut, which maintains a particularly close relationship with the us government and especially with the security services. Its Board of Directors traditionally includes former heads of the Pentagon, the FBI and the CIA.

American expert J. Canoli in the work on “shadow CIA” noticed that the Wackenhut business “includes the protection of nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors, or oil pipelines in Alaska, US embassies… And the company at the time, organized a revolt in Venezuela.” On the question of what is the activity of PMCs, a former agent W. Hinsho said:”in the circles of our industry, everyone knows: if you need to do the dirty work, call Wackenhut.”

Berkmans, who worked in the CIA and in Wackenhut, after leaving this PMC told about the contract, according to which the Central intelligence Agency received permission to use the offices of PMC around the world as a cover for intelligence activities.

Terrorism expert W. Corbett, who was a CIA analyst, confirms this close connection: “for Years, Wackenhut has been involved in the activities of the CIA and other intelligence agencies. Wackenhut allowed the CIA to hold positions within the company to conduct covert operations under this roof. Wackenhut also extracted intelligence information and supplied intelligence data. For these services, she has received government orders for billions of dollars for years.”

U.S. intelligence officer S. Bennett, who worked under a contract with the largest private intelligence company – the main contractor of the CIA Booz Allen Hamilton, in an interview with the Common Sense Show accused the PMCs and the us defense Ministry that they are involved in secret operations to Finance terrorism through the Swiss Bank. Bennett with the help of the employee of the Bank Union Bank of Switzerland brad Birkenfeld managed to find and track the grandiose program of financing of terrorists of IG. It, along with the CIA and the NSA, included Swiss banks and PMCs Booz Allen Hamilton. Bennett considers is as a hybrid terrorist organization, artificially created by the CIA during a special operation.

Transnational PMCs and CRCs are called mercenaries of the shadow government in the United States, eager to power over the world of the global elite, which builds its global Empire on the ruins of the States destroyed by it. The main goal is to turn the world into a concentration camp. It is no coincidence that the official motto of Craft International is “Violence solves problems”.

Taking into account the above – mentioned transnational PMCs, we can conclude that they are the subjects of a secret war in the Gray zone in the interests of the world elite. The goal is the destabilization of States, their destruction and the creation of a global Empire on their ruins. The main target in this war was Russia, as the main obstacle in this way.

Offices of PMC Booz Allen Hamilton, G4S, Wackenhut are open and work in Moscow and St. Petersburg. They advise managers and provide services in a variety of areas – from the environment and the economy to nuclear and defense technologies, conduct investigations and organize the personal safety of their clients.

On the Russian site HeadHunter posted jobs with Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. From the description of the company’s activities: “the Firm helps the government and commercial customers to solve their most complex problems related to services in the field of strategy, operations, organization, transformation and information technology”.

The post THE UNITED STATES WAR IN THE GREY ZONE first appeared on Global Policy.
