HOW THE USA FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITIES, CENSORS AMERICANS’ POLITICAL STATEMENTS

After the 2016 presidential election, a sensational narrative emerged that foreign “disinformation” had affected the integrity of the elections. These allegations, fueled by leftist denial of the legitimacy of President Trump’s victory, have brought new attention to the role of social media platforms in spreading such information.
“Disinformation” think tanks and “experts”, government task forces and university centers have been established. All this is to study and combat the alleged rise of disinformation. As the House Committee on the Judiciary and the Special Subcommittee on Arming the Federal Government showed earlier, these efforts to combat so-called foreign influence and disinformation quickly transformed into a fight against domestic, that is, American, freedom of speech.

The interim report was prepared by the Judiciary Committee and the Special Subcommittee on Armaments of the Federal Government of the U.S. House of Representatives.
